The Diamond Mermaid

The author, for many years an entrepreneur in the communicationsfield, was born in Bogota, Colombia in 1944. Lawyer and Economist from Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, has a Master Degree in Economic Development from the University of Wisconsin ? Milwaukee, and master studies in Literature from Universidad Javeriana. He also obtained a Masters in Writing from Universidad Nacional in Colombia, in2010. For over twenty years, has been a professor of the Rosario and Javeriana universities, in economic andsocial subjects. Now he has immersed himself in the literature. Being a customary traveler by necessity and passion, he linksthese varied and enriching experiences into his literarywork. He has published two books of short stories: ? The Pygmalion Statue? and ? Walking towards the end of the Earth?. ? The Diamond Mermaid? is his first novel. He is workingnow in other novels, stories and essays that are coming out inthe next months. He is convinced that the functionof literature goes beyond plain amusement, that´s why heinvolves the deepest aspects of the human psyche and the society where they operate. He uses them constantly taking intoconsideration wider objectives.
